Dalbo Food

I launched Dalbofood with word of mouth to my friends and coworkers. My goal was to deliver food to anyone. In the first week, I delivered 7 orders with a total of $10 sales. Today we are a team of 10 people delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner to hundreds of offices and homes across Hargeisa each day. It was two years ago when I started the business in 2017 with $125 part of my salary. The idea came about a year before while I was on a walk downtown with my friend when we were discussing the food delivery problems across Hargeisa. I spent a year working a full-time job, slowly creating a brand, testing my model, learning to build a website and thinking about logistics. After launching I spent the first year working seven days a week on my own. Dalbo, the problem was the long queues, no order accuracy, costly and there is no efficiency and reliable delivery service. We need to get $7,500 in order to develop our online systems and launch a new and easy application which will create more job opportunities for youth. We are planning to launch this application at the beginning of the new year 2020 and Insha Allah hire the first 200 drivers and 50 new restaurants that use our new online systems and hopefully our supporters they will see the social and economic impact of contributing to our startup.
