DurDur Onion Production

Onion business among small retailers continues to grow in Burao town, this is largely due to the demand of the produce which is consumed by almost all households on a daily basis. Despite this opportunity, there has been perennial shortages of onion in the market with most of the suppliers failing to meet the market demand and quality. More often the onions supplied do not meet the market standards and are not fresh and have low shelf life. It is for this reason that I have decided to start my business Durdur onion production which is located in Burao town, Somaliland with thsi venture I aim to increase the supply of quality and fresh onions supply to the market. Drip irrigation will be used to ensure that production is done all year round. Technical capacity among the agricultural experts available within the team will be tapped to ensure that good agronomic practices are followed. The business will target retailers in Burao market, grocers, hotels and individuals buyers. A dedicated team of the group will be responsible for the daily running of the farm and subsequent marketing of the produce. To fully operate the farm and expand the venture I am raising $5000.
